Renters Insurance
Renters Insurance
Renters insurance has four types of coverages: Personal Property, Reimbursed Living Expenses, Liability Protection, and Guest Medical Coverage. In addition to protecting your belonging placed inside and outside your place, renters insurance helps pay legal fees should a visitor or guest get injured during their time in your home. If your home is uninhabitable due to a covered peril, this would cover additional living expenses for a limited amount of time. In most cases renters insurance is required by landlords so it is important to understand what is included and needed. Please note that this is not the same as home or landlord insurance, as that would be for property owners.
Personal Property Coverage
Help protect personal property in your apartment, condominium, and rental home from damages that were caused by theft, fire, falling objects, vandalism, vehicle damage, some weather related incidents and more. The items could be placed inside or outside your home, in your car, and will still be protected should you go on vacation or starting to move (coverege for up to 30 days).
Here is a typically list of items that would be included:
- Clothing
- Damage from accidents
- Electronics
- Furniture
- Jewelry
- Temporary living expenses
- Tools
For other specific items including but not limiting to watercraft equipment, money, bank notes, gift cards, trading cards, rugs, firearms, and wall hangings please contact one of our agents.
Reimbursed Living Expenses & Loss of use
Should water damage from plumbing, lighting, a civil commotion or another covered loss cause damage to your home rendering it unlivable, this coverage would help pay for your increased living expenses. Normally includes food and a temporary place to live while your apartment or home is being repaired/ replaced (covering for up to 24 months).
Examples of what this would cover:
- Additional fuel costs
- Additional utilities
- Storage units
- Moving costs
- Public transportation
- Parking fees
Please Note: There are limitations and exclusions. Feel free to ask one of our agents for any further questions.
Liability Protection
In the event that someone gets injured at your place and decides to take legal action this liability protection would help you pay for medical bills, legal expenses, and other damages. For further details and questions, feel free to give us a call.
Guest Medical Coverage
If a guest or visitor gets injured inside or outside your place, having this coverage would help you pay necessary medical expenses even if you or other household members are not at fault. These types of situations are unpredictable and can be difficult to navigate through. Let us help you today.
