Limousines

Several factors influence limo insurance cost including location, vehicle value, vehicle size, driver history, and coverage needs. The premium will also depend on suburban area versus a large city, the age, value of your vehicle and if it is an older model versus a brand-new stretch limo.

Limousine insurance requirements and rating factors you will need to consider:

  • Accident and claims history – Insurance companies will review claim history
  • Drivers driving records  – Insurance companies will ask for driving records
  • Location of business – The area your business is located helps determine environmental and liabilty risks
  • Make and Model – This helps determine the value of the vehicle
  • Minimum coverage limits and your deductibles – you may be required to carry higher limits than state minimum coverage
  • Vehicle’s length – Your insurance company may have guidelines for stretched vehicles
  • Vehicle age and milage – Older cars may not be acceptable

Vans

Similar to the cost factors we noted for limousines the van’s value, size, age, milage, driver history and coverage needs affect the cost. Your business may be to transport products, goods, or people, and each have their own insurance risk. Driving around the city or countryside also has impact even the location of your business beacuse of environmental factors and the other types surrounding businesses near by.

Common vans types:

Cargo Vans – Normally a two front seat,  windowless van with a large cargo area

Passenger Vans – These vans are commonly used for organizations such as churches and retirement home to transport their members, seats 12-15 people

Minivans – Used by companies as commercial vehicles

Minimum coverage limits and your deductibles – you may be required to carry higher limits than state minimum coverage

If you are unsure as to how much car insurance you need, we recommend checking your state insurance minimums and reviewing all the coverage options!
